“Dance Your PhD” Finalists Announced
The journal Science has announced the finalists in its annual Dance Your PhD contest. I have to say, this year’s crop is the best yet. I liked all of the pop music in the Chemistry dance (the Taq polymerase sequence is the best use of “Safety Dance” EVER) and the dance interpretation of a wiki flame war in the Social Sciences dance.
The finalists each received $500. A grand prize winner will be announced October 19th, with the winner getting an additional cash prize and a showing at the Imagine Science Film Festival in New York City. Vote for your favorite too, the crowd favorite also receives a $500 prize.

I want to do a PhD just to make a PhD dance now. Except that they don’t have a Geology category.
Geology could be included in the physical sciences category, I suppose. . .
